A working knowledge of environmental legislation, mainly the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations
Good organisational skills to manage a busy and diverse workload
Excellent communication skils to interact with customers in a manner consistent with SEPA’s Values

- Assessing applications for (or proposed changes to) environmental permits and preparing an environmental permit that assists the holder in understanding how they can protect the environment and human health from their activities
- Engaging in pre-application discussions and provide advice to potential applicants
- Preparing planning responses in relation to permitting to SEPA’s Planning Unit
- Incident Response and Investigation
