We are looking for a Full-Time Ecology Unit Manager on a Permanent basis

  • Guiding a team of talented professionals by setting a positive example and delivering strong leadership and management

  • Steering the Unit’s work to align with SEPA’s strategic priorities and maximise its impact on environmental protection and improvement

  • Monitoring the impact of human activities on, and the effectiveness of actions taken to protect and improve, the environment, with a primary focus on rivers and freshwater lochs

  • Providing evidence to support SEPA’s response to pollution incidents and unauthorised activities

  • Providing scientific advice to inform regulatory and environmental restoration decision-making

  • Leading initiatives across the portfolio including multi-disciplinary internal and external groups

    This is a highly important role within our Evidence & Flooding portfolio. As a ECOLOGY UNIT MANAGER for EVIDENCE & FLOODING, you will lead the Ecology Assessment Unit which comprises of approximately 45 front line science colleagues across multiple geographical locations.
